Hi Welcome to just answer
Your symptoms may be due to polycystic ovarian syndrome
Have you had any blood work done or medications that you tried ?
No, I have never had any tests (for PCO). I have never seen a doctor about my symptoms. I assume its PCO due to what I have described plus the horrendously painful periods.
I have never tried medications for the symptoms either.
This is a common condition but there are other potential conditions that may mimic this and need to be ruled out
Once diagnosed this is treatable condition with reasonable disease Control expected in most cases.
Oral contraceptives containing combination of estrogen and progesterone can be tried.
I would suggest that before you self treat to see a gynecologist for evaluation.
If you delay your symptoms would worsen
Among things needed would be to rule out any problem with thyroid gland s, adrenal gland or even enjoy the pituitary by doing simple blood tests.
Also imaging like ultrasound maybe needed to visualize the ovaries
Once diagnosed there are different levels to care.
1 is to Control symptoms and 2nd to control underlying process.
Different combination oral contraceptives are usually part of management.
Drugs like metformin help normalize the cycles
Other fertility meds help getting pregnant.
Losing weight is also important and can help achieve disease control and increase fertility.
Other medications or laser therapy to get rid of excessive hair .
I this helps
Let me know if you need further assistance.
