Dr Basu :

Hi there, This is Dr Basu, Experienced Specialist. I am here to address your concerns and provide great service.

Dr Basu :

Dark brown urine suggests bleeding in the urine.

Dr Basu :

Can be from the bleeding from bladder or the kidneys.

Dr Basu :

Also kidney stone can cause such pain and dark brown urine.

Dr Basu :

Ibuprofen is a medication causing bleeding.

Dr Basu :

It is better to get kidney ultrasound.

Dr Basu :

that will rule out any kidney damage, stones.

Dr Basu :

also a urine analysis to rule out any infection.

Dr Basu :

you should avoid ibuprofen for now.

Customer: Hi there apart from a kidney, what about the severe back pain to the point where I couldn't move for 24 hours due to the spasms
Dr Basu :

that can be kidney related as well.

Dr Basu :

Another possibility can be herniated disc in lumbar spine.

Dr Basu :

that can press on the nerve root causing severe pain.

Customer: Is there anyway of persuading my gp for a referral or what kind of doctor could I see privately?
Dr Basu :

Your GP can easily order an ultrasound to check your kidneys out to set the ball rolling.

Dr Basu :

If the ultrasouns is normal --then good.

Dr Basu :

you need to see a spine specialist in that case for MRI scan of the spine.

Customer: He said he won't refer me for an MRI scan is there any other way?
Dr Basu :

you can see a physical therapist.

Dr Basu :

physical therapy is the main treatment anyway

Dr Basu :

He can recommend a MRI as well.

Dr Basu :

Best wishes,
It was my pleasure to help you today.
