This is Dr. David
that depends on how enlarged your prostate gland is
and if it is enlarged even more from a prostate infection.
urinary retention can cause more prostate swelling as well.
Regurim is trospium and has a long half life of 20-35 hours
so it can take a week for it to completely get out of your system.
so if you are unable to urinate at this point, you can't wait a week for the Regurim to get out of your system.
you need to see a doctor right away at the A&E
and they can catheterize you to get the urine out.
and give you a course of antibitoics to help calm down any prostate inflammation
and you have to see a urologist about your enlarged prostate and bladder spasms.
let me know if you have questions.
I can urinate but I don't produce very much.
it still sounds like you could be retaining urine
or have an inflamed and/or infected prostate gland
you have to see a doctor about it.
just stopping the Requrim most likely is not enough.
you can try to take a hot bath and see if that helps relax your bladder neck muscles.
and help improve your urination flow.
but most likely you will need more medications like flomax
and medications to help shrink your prostate gland like proscar or avodart
and a course of antibiotics.
and maybe even a red rubber catheter for self catheterizations to help get the urine out.
I think I am retaining urine. I thought that I would see my GP tomorrow morning. I am on flowmax already.
try the warm bath and see if that improves urine flow.
let me know if you have other questions.
do see your GP tomorrow.
talk to your GP about my suggestions above.
