Dr. David :

This is Dr. David

Dr. David :

how old are you?

Dr. David :

are you man or woman?

Dr. David :

the swelling can be due to weakness of your heart or from weakness of your liver not making enough albumin protein.

JACUSTOMER-azhn9fcn- :

I am a 36 year old female with a history of hypertension and diabetes

Dr. David :

diabetes can cause your blood vessels and nerves not to function very well.

Dr. David :

excessive salt in your diet can cause swelling in your legs as well.

Dr. David :

do you eat out frequently or eat a lot of salt?

Dr. David :

you need to see your doctor to get blood testing to check your liver function

Dr. David :

and avoid salt

Dr. David :

and elevate your legs up above your heart to help decrease swelling.

JACUSTOMER-azhn9fcn- :

No i do not have a lot of alt in my iet

JACUSTOMER-azhn9fcn- :

So do u feel this is not urgent

Dr. David :

that is good you don't have a lot of salt in your diet.

Dr. David :

no, if it is causing difficulty walking, you need to see your GP doctor.

JACUSTOMER-azhn9fcn- :

So it is ok to wail until Monday in your opinion

Dr. David :

you don't want the swelling to get out of control and get worse.

Dr. David :

yes, you can wait until monday.

Dr. David :

if you have swelling in both legs, at your age, it would be unlikely you have a blood clot in your legs causing swelling

Dr. David :

blood clots tend to occur in just one leg.

Dr. David :

and usually in older patients.

JACUSTOMER-azhn9fcn- :

It's been almost a week now and not getting any bett better

Dr. David :

yes, you don't want it to get worse.

Dr. David :

do elevate your legs up above your heart.

Dr. David :

avoid excessive salt in your diet.
