My mum has had some brief flashing in her right eye, usually

Resolved Question:

My mum has had some brief flashing in her right eye, usually on standing up or moving about, usually in the shape of a half-moon/semi-circle (not zig-zags) in the last week or so (but not today or yesterday). What could be causing it and what should she do? Her GP said to get a free eye test at Tesco.

I am very worried about something called amaurosis fugax
this is a syndrome related to impending stroke
She needs to see an internist or neurologist right away about this
Customer: replied 2 years ago.

This is worrying. She saw her gp and he didn't seem overly concerned, just asked her to make an appointment for an eye test. Obviously no point going back to that gp presumably. Should she go to a walk-in centre at the local hospital today or can it wait until tomorrow or so?
