Hello,

Welcome to JustAnswer and thank you for your question.

Yes it is significant weight loss, it can cause harm to the body organs by putting them under stress specially kidneys, lungs and heart. They become weak and loose function.

What should

we do ? He's and 3 cycles of chemo

so far and the main issue is appetite loas and therefore he has lost weight .

Expert:  Dr S.A.Alam replied 1 year ago.

Thank you for your reply,

We suggest appetite stimulants like mosegor, using medicine like Zantac to help reduce the chance of stomach ulcers and given entiemetic medicine all these can promote appetite and help to gain weight.

I hope this helps.

what b made of this cea-

Thank you for your reply,

In chemo patient is suppose to loose weight but 1 stone is too much as it causes weakness of heart, lungs and kidneys making them prone to damage.

Customer: replied 1 year ago.

Ok what can these cea numbers mean as we are thinking if to stop it-

before chemo cea 65

after round 1 cea 80

aftee round 2 cea 55

Expert:  Dr S.A.Alam replied 1 year ago.

Thank you for your reply.

The normal range is 0 to 2.5 micrograms per liter (mcg/L). In smokers, the normal range is 0 to 5 mcg/L.

Anything more than this means active disease.
