I had painless rectal bleeding months only with bowel

Resolved Question:

I had painless rectal bleeding for 3 months only with bowel other digestive symptoms present. When I returned from abroad my GP prescribed proctosedyl which immediately cleared the bleeding. 3 weeks later all still fine. I have been referred to a rectal bleeding clinic but appointment is in several weeks. Does this sound like internal piles or evidence of something more sinister? General health is good.

Piles most likely.
Can also be diverticulosis.
Can also be a polyp or even a cancerous polyp.
This symptom requires a colonoscopy, without fail.
Unless you had a recent , clean colonosocpy.
OK, so that is an initial answer….
