20 month old with diagnosed otitis media and tonsillitis. Not distressed but temp 40.2. Should I give antipyretic?

Hi. I would hope the child is on antibiotics but yes at this point he or she needs either children's ibuprofen or acetaminophen along with plenty of liquds. You can give either one every four to six hours as needed

Augmentin prescribed but I understood that could delay meds to see how he is after 48hours before giving...? Also, I thought that guidance had changed for antipyretics. Can you confirm I should be giving regularly even if child is not distressed at all. He is taking fluids OK and passing urine
