I keep needing to take deep breath/ yawn and it feels like

Customer Question

I keep needing to take deep breath/ yawn and it feels like I can't breathe in deep enough

Thank you for your question, this happens when your body needs more oxygen and you are working in a closed area where there is lack of oxygen, this is the most common cause of such symptoms. Other causes include lung problems and diapragmatic problems which makes lungs expand less.
Customer: replied 1 year ago.
It can't be lack of oxygen because I work outside all day as I'm a farmer ... It has happens once before ... But passed ... Am am currently giving up smoking as well could this be a factor ?
Expert:  Dr S.A.Alam replied 1 year ago.
Yes this is a factor, because it blocks the uptake of oxygen by the lungs. I hope this helps.
Customer: replied 1 year ago.
So what can I do ? I have given up for about a week now ?
Expert:  Dr S.A.Alam replied 1 year ago.
It can take several weeks before you can see a good recovery. because it takes time for the lungs to recover.
Expert:  Dr S.A.Alam replied 1 year ago.
In the mean time try breathing exercises
Customer: replied 1 year ago.
But it never used to happen while I was smoking?
Customer: replied 1 year ago.
And why is it that sometimes I'm fine but whenever I think about it I feel the need to have a deep breath .
Expert:  Dr S.A.Alam replied 1 year ago.
This can be due to associated anxiety which can also cause same symptoms.
Customer: replied 1 year ago.
So how long do you think this will last ?
And is there anything you can suggest to help it ?
Expert:  Dr S.A.Alam replied 1 year ago.
If this is anxiety then you need to get it treated before you can see good results.
Customer: replied 1 year ago.
How do I do thst
Expert:  Dr S.A.Alam replied 1 year ago.
Breathing exercises, yoga and anti anxiety pills can help.
