Resolved Question:

Hi there
My son is 4.5yrs and about a year ago we had an episode where he couldnt walk he would weight bear and said his groin and hip area hurt on one side. He had a blood test which was fine. After a day or so he got better. It happened again three weeks later. Its now happened again. Ive been researching perthes diesease and now wonder if it could be that? He has had no injuries. He is in quite a lot of pain, hurts when not movin as well as moving it.any suggestions?

HI
That is not likely at all.
It would be obvious on x ray.
This sounds more like groin muscle strain.
Suggestions
He needs an exam, preferably a structural exam [physical medicine doctor or orthopedist].
An x ray if not done.

Why is perthes not likely? He didnt have an xray before but think i will go hospital to try and get one. Last time he gradually walked on it over a few days it then got better.

Because it would be severe and not come and go and he would not be completely well in between these episodes.
