Hemoglobin A1c level above 6.5 is also considered diabetic although not used to diagnose the condition.
Rice has lots of carbs and it can cause high blood sugar especially in people with insulin resistance.
You have insulin resistance and that is why your sugar came higher than normal.
You should watch our diet -- only whole grains, vegetables, lean proteins, polyunsaturated fats.
Limit carb intake to less than 25 grams per meal.
