I emigrated from USA, Fl. I was prescribed Focalin 40mg x3

Resolved Question:

I emigrated from USA, Fl. I was prescribed Focalin 40mg x3 per day. I've been told that Concerta 54mg is the only thing that can be prescribed, but I'm 36 and know that focalin is far more effective

Hi there.
Thank you for your question.
I will be helping you out with your concerns today.
I am sorry to hear about your problem.
Focalin is twice as strong as concerta mg per mg.
So I agree focalin is more effective but it's not that concerta is useless.
You can try using concerta to see if it works in your case.
Both drugs belong to a similar class of medications.

Can you at least prescribe something instant release? Generic Methylphenidate is fine, but the doctors here seem to be frightened of prescribing it

I wish I could have prescribed something online but online prescriptions are not valid.
Therefore I would recommend that you should talk to your doctor about this situation and discuss with him.
Concerta also contains methylphenidate for your information but it is the L-isomer as compared to the D-isomer that you were previously taking.
