my friend has very bad memory problems feels cold on hot days and a tendancy to put on weight her GP says thyroid test perfect (friends words)
I was a nurse, retired 24 years but to me she has symptoms of hypothyroid
your advice please

Hi. Your friend definitely has the symptoms of hypothyroidism. The major test of this would be her TSH level and unless it were well under 2.0 I would consider her hypothryoid and I would place her on thyroid replacement.Perhaps her GP isn't aware of the newer guidelines for TSH levels and hypothyroidism and if he can't be persuaded to treat here she should see an endocrinologist Let me know if you need more information please
