in bed for 4 days now. Bad cough and nausea at first. Now no energy, heart rate up, temperature 38.1, chest feels very wheezy and coughing hurts. Could I be in the early stages of pneumonia and what should I do?

This is Dr. David

you could have pneumonia or severe bronchitis.

or it could be a bad case of influenza or flu viral infection

you should go to the hospital or A&E department and be evaluated by a doctor.

you need a chest xray or chest CT scan and blood testing to check for elevated white blood cell count.

you might need a course of antibiotics if a bacterial pneumonia infection is found.

you might need bronchodilators like albuterol to help open up lung airways.

you might need a course of cough medications like codeine and guaifenessin

but you have to see a doctor right away to get evaluated and treated
