This is Dr. David
the recommended antibiotics to treat chlamydia are
http://www.cdc.gov/std/tg2015/chlamydia.htm
Recommended Regimens
Azithromycin 1 gram orally in a single dose OR
Doxycycline 100 mg orally twice a day for 7 days
Alternative Regimens
Erythromycin base 500 mg orally four times a day for 7 days OR
Erythromycin ethylsuccinate 800 mg orally four times a day for 7 days OR
Levofloxacin 500 mg orally once daily for 7 days OR
Ofloxacin 300 mg orally twice a day for 7 days
I would recommend azithromycin 1gram orally for one day
or the doxycycline antibiotic 100mg twice a day for 7 days.
make sure you take a probitoic when you take an antibiotic to help add good bacteria into your bowels to prevent diarrhea from antibiotics.
talk to your doctor about these antibiotic regimens for chlamydia.

what other questions do you have?
I am still here willing to help you.
Customer: replied 2 years ago.
I know what the suggested treatments for chlamydia are, I have taken Azithromycin twice now but it doesn't clear the infection, presumably because of my liver condition.
Do you know what treatment would for me?
Expert:  Dr. David replied 2 years ago.
how did you know you didn't clear the infection?
did you get retested with a repeat urethral swab and culture which showed chlamydia?
Customer: replied 2 years ago.
Only tested with urine samples, retested after 6 weeks if having 1st treatment as still showed signs. Retook medication but a couple of months later I still have signs and there's no way I have been re-infected.
Expert:  Dr. David replied 2 years ago.
if you had primary treatment already, I bet the chlamydia is gone
drinking alcohol or drinking caffeine in coffee or sodas can cause burning with urination and frequent urination.
I would get urethra swab testing instead of urine testing.
I bet it will not show chamydia infection.
are you drinking alcohol or caffeine?
I would take doxycycline next time if your urethral swab test show evidence of chlamydia.
you haven't had doxycycline yet.
Customer: replied 2 years ago.
I drink tea and the occasional coke. Iv never had this burning before though and I do get some clear discharge sometimes.
I will ask for a urethral swab and see how that goes!
Expert:  Dr. David replied 2 years ago.
yes, ask for urethral swab testing
I bet your chlamydia infection is gone
