This is Dr. David
side of the breast are where there are lot of milk glands
and before your period your hormones can spike and change in your system
and cause aching pains in your breast.
is this before your period.
you don't have to worry about breast cancer.
breast cancer doesn't cause pain in the breast.
let me know if you have questions.
Expert:  Dr Basu replied 1 year ago.
Hi there,This is Dr Basu, experienced Internal Medicine Specialist.I am here to address your concerns and provide great service. The painful area can be due to muscle strain most commonly. However if you notice redness, then there is possibility bacterial infection as well.Breast infection is common but fully treatable with antibiotic.Pain can be controlled with ibuprofen tablets.Best wishes,It was my pleasure to help you today. If I have answered all your questions, Please rate my response Excellent (click on the 5th star). Please bookmark my profile for asking further questions! This is the link to my profile:http://www.justanswer.com/medical/expert-mysticdoc/

This is Dr. David
I am a cancer doctor
I was the first expert to help you
you did NOT mention anything about redness of the skin.
breast infection is called mastitis and causes redness, swelling and pain in the breast, but is very rare.
it sounds like you only have pain on the outside of your breast.
this is most often due to hormone changes in your body before your period.
this pain is not a sign of breast cancer.
you can also use cold or warm packs on the breast to help pain.
if you haven't been lifting heavy objects or weight lifting, then most likely it is NOT due to muscle strain

I have not been lifting any thing it hurts a lot
Customer: replied 1 year ago.
Oh I don't have period I have coil fitted
Expert:  Dr. David replied 1 year ago.
it doesn't sound like muscle strain
I would put an ice pack on the area
like crushed ice in a plastic bag wrapped in a towel
and you can go see a doctor at the hospital or urgent care center or A&E
the pain might help with ibuprofen or naproxen sodium
have you tried ice packs on the area?
you can still have hormone changes up and down with a coil fitted in your uterus.
but you can to to the A&E hospital and see a doctor
any redness of the skin?
is the breast warm to the touch? redness and warmth are signs of infection of the breast.
Customer: replied 1 year ago.
I have strong pain killers co dydramol what doctors gave me for my back but have taken them for this pain it is warm but can not see redness of the skin
Expert:  Dr. David replied 1 year ago.
if it is warm, then it can be a sign of infection.
you should see a doctor at the hospital or A&E department to see if you need a course of antibiotics to help
you should use ice packs on your breast as well
do you have a hospital close to you?
