Customer Question

I have belly button discharge and it has a smelly odour, its normally yellowy pink in colour, but sometimes just bloody. Everyday I have blood discharged which has dried around my belly button. I went to my GP and was given a week of antibiotics. Not much improvement. I've had a really good look inside my belly button and I can see a piece of flesh, its red in colour. The best way to describe it would be like a piece of red meat. It's quite small, I have no pain in my abdomen apart from when I clean out my belly button using a tissue which seems to irritate the flesh.

This is Dr. David
you need to go back to your GP doctor and get an ultrasound scan of your abdomen
and you have to see a surgeon and infectious disease doctor
you need a wound culture of the pus coming out of the belly button area
it sounds like you could have an abscess or hidden infection in your abdomen.
you might need a surgery to go in and cut out the area of infection to clear a locked infection in your abdomen.
you don't want this infection to get worse.
it sounds like it has been going on long enough.
let me know if you have questions.
