Last couple nights I get chest pain when lying down,

Resolved Question:

For the last couple nights I get chest pain when lying down, on my left, and only when exhaling. Sharp, stabbing pain. Goes away immediately as I either inhale or change positions.
Also happens sometimes when I bend over.

Hi and thanks for query,Any new onset chest pain in adults should be investigated with an EKG to rule out cardiac conditions. Once ruled out other causes that less serious can be investigated. Apart from heart conditions these symptoms can arise from pleuritis, intercostal mucular spasms, chest muscle spasms, oesophagitis etc. I would advise that you visit the ER or an Urgent Care for an EKG, once done and if heart conditions have been ruled out, the physician will investigate for other conditions mentioned and commence the treatment accordingly.Hope this helps. Please do leave a positive rating for the service.Best wishes.
