I've just perforated my eardrum. How long will the bleeding

Customer Question

I've just perforated my eardrum. How long will the bleeding continue?

HelloIt should have stopped bleeding after an hour , maximum. If it is still bleeding there might be infection, etc. There could be a little blood that oozes for a day or so, but active bleeding for that long is not normal. It needs an examination, as there is some risk of hearing loss. OK, so that is an initial answer….Please use reply to expert if you have further questions. When you are ready, please click a positive rating [hopefully excellent]. Two points: I wear a hearing aid. I take a daily anti-coagulant, Apixaban. Will this prolong the bleeding?
Expert:  DrRussMD replied 1 year ago.
Yes
The anticoagulant and any irritation will prolong the bleeding.
However, still let your doctor set the guidelines.
