At a loss, my son has not fallen into any routine regarding

Resolved Question:

At a loss, my son has not fallen into any routine regarding sleep. We have tried multiple techniques with his food intake and sleep times, we have tried the crying out method over the last 2 months or so and still no lengthy sleep pattern. he will wake nearly every 45 mins out of his sleep cycle and have to be cuddled back over or he will wake. We are lucky if we get 2 hours of him sleeping at one time. He is a reflux baby and has been ill quite regularly. We have logged his eating and sleeping events as well as well as medication which when referred to a pediatrician wasn't even looked at. Every time we see any doctor in the Plymouth area it appears as if they do not look into our case correctly and the goal post are moved, for example it should calm at 6 months, hes now 7 months, well he should calm down at 10 months etc etc. My son will not eat much solids and he only just manages 5 oz bottles before throwing the majority of it up. We have changed the brand of milk 3 times including a allergy free brand and still it made no difference. Just today we have taken him to the doctor as he's been ill with what looks like a cold and flu. his temp will go to 39 with out paracetamol to bring it down. When he has a high temp he really isn't well. We don't know what to do anymore and I have lost my faith in the Doctors in Plymouth.

I seesome babies sleep better in a rocker at night time.

why was formula added to the diet?
Customer: replied 11 months ago.
To wein him off the breast. James, my son, sleeps on a wedge to incline him. He protests in rockers and wont stay in them.

was he sleeping and eating better with just breast milk?
Customer: replied 11 months ago.
No he was troublesome taking to the breast in the beginning. The best time he was sleeping was at birth, he would go 6 hours at a time but then he lost weight so we were advised to wake him at every 2-3 to feed him. Since then its been the same.

he might take better to a bottlehave you tried to pump breast milk and feed breast milk by bottle?
Customer: replied 11 months ago.
We did that so my wife could catch a break in feeding and I could then help out due to the frequency he wakes
Expert:  Dr. David replied 11 months ago.
is he gaining weight now?I'm sure he is gaining weight now.now his GI system is used to being woken up in the middle of the night to feedthat is why he is waking up.you now have to try to stretch out how long he doesn't feed for at night time to get him to sleep more.
Customer: replied 11 months ago.
in the middle of that at the moment, feeding is every 4 hours regimented throughout the day and limited to settling him over when he wakes without a feed. This along with the crying out method
Expert:  Dr. David replied 11 months ago.
during the day, the feedings can be more frequent and will be a good way to help get in the calories.I would do feeding during the day every 3 hoursand start to space out the feedings at night time.
