Resolved Question:

I am a 35 year old woman, recently married, no kids. Im having a really difficult time with depression ( I think it must be depression ). Over the past 10 years I've been prescribed 3 different anti-depressants but I honestly don't rate any of them, they didn't seem to make a blind bit of difference to how I've felt. I've never been so concerned about my mental health as I am now. I get no enjoyment out of anything I do in life anymore, I don't look after my appearance at all anymore and I sleep on average around 9-10 hours each night. I feel lethargic during the day, I don't want to face anyone and I seem completely incapable of making even a simple decision. I feel guilty for the way my behavior must be affecting my husband... I've been prescribed 30mg mitrazipine and have been taking them since October. Any advice would be greatly appreciated, thank you.

Thanks for your reply. I have had a test to rule out an overactive thyroid, I'm not sure if my magnesium and vitamin D levels have been tested but I'd expect so. I don't understand why I'd be prescribed anti-depressants and not CBT if medication alone often doesn't work? Should I voice this concern with my GP? Thank you.
