Resolved Question:

Hello from JustAnswer. Yes, poor liver function can cause diffuse itching. Of all the people that present with itching, only a small percentage are found to have liver disease. But of people with significant liver disease, itching is one of the more common symptoms. In someone with itching with no apparent cause, it is reasonable to check blood tests that include liver function tests. Or from another perpective, if someone with known liver disease develops itching, it is likely due to the liver disease. If I can provide any additional information,m please let me know.
