Expert:  Dr Basu replied 7 months ago.
If you feel out of line can be a fracture. Do you notice any swelling and bruising?
Customer: replied 7 months ago.
It's not swollen its just painful on the bone and it looks out of place
Expert:  Dr Basu replied 7 months ago.
Ok dislocation of the toe joint is likely. You should see your doctor soon.Splinting and immobilization are recommended for proper healing. You should also wear post op shoes and avoid weight bearing for 2 weeks as much as possible.Best wishes

No it has been like this for past 2 years only gets soar after I play a game my other toe is starting to do the same thing now
Expert:  Dr Basu replied 7 months ago.
Can you please post a picture here?It is possible you may be developing tendon contracture causing such deformities. That will require further evaluation by a specialist.Treatable with steroid injections, manipulation and splinting.
Customer: replied 7 months ago.
Okay I will post a picture
Expert:  Dr Basu replied 7 months ago.

Did u get my photo
Expert:  Dr Basu replied 7 months ago.
I assume you are asking about great toe. There is no fracture .It looks like you have developed bunion or calluses at the side of the toe.Bunion is a bone deformity that can be addressed by proper orthotic shoes.Calluses can be removed by a podiatrist. You should consult with a podiatrist.Fully treatable condition.Best wishes
Customer: replied 7 months ago.
Yes it is my big toe can it be fixed with insoles in my shoe or what kind of operation will I have to go for, what is the cause of this
Expert:  Dr Basu replied 7 months ago.
Surgery is not needed right now in fact not a first line treatment. It is better to see a podiatrist first as the problem has been going on for so long. The most likely cause is repeated trauma to the toe from faulty shoes --this is common due to the anatomical variation between the two feet. Both feet are not of same length and size often times.
Customer: replied 7 months ago.
okay thanks will it eventually stop me from playing sports
Expert:  Dr Basu replied 7 months ago.
No it will not likely. With proper orthotics you should be able to lead normal life.Best wishes,It was my pleasure to help you today. If I have answered all your questions, Please rate my response Excellent (click on the 5th star on top). Please bookmark my profile for fast, reliable authentic answers! This is the link to my profile:http://www.justanswer.com/medical/expert-mysticdoc/

HelloSimply because you have a bunion, or might have a bunion, that is not clear, does not mean that you don't have a fracture because of injury during sports.Have this x rayedDr. Thomas.
