I have been having heart palpitations since November last

Customer Question

I have been having heart palpitations since November last year. They are not constant I get them every now and then, but they are very painful when I do. I have high blood pressure also. I went to my GP in November last year, and he took some blood to be tested for my thyroid gland but no abnormalities were shown when my tests results came back. He said my heart palpitations would probably have something to do with my anxiety. I explained to him that my family has a history of heart problems but he said he was confident that my heart is okay. My chest can get tight, and I can become breathless. I would like a second opinion please.

Did he do any heart tests Shona?

Customer: replied 1 year ago.
Nope, none. That's what I want the second option on, should I go and have an ECG?

Yes, I would just to rule out GI issues

many times GI issues can feel like your heart. I like the idea of an EGD

Customer: replied 1 year ago.
I don't have any 'GI' issues. I think I know the difference between what a heart palipitation feels like and what stomach problems feel like.

Yes, but GI issues can often times feel like a palpitation

Customer: replied 1 year ago.
are you sure you're a doctor? That doesn't make sense. GI issues are completely tow different things. I'm pretty sure I can tell between the two and considering I don't have any issues with my stomach or any symptoms to suggest otherwise I'm going to say it's definitely nothing to do with my stomach. I think I've just answered my own question. I paid £40 for this, what a joke.

No, you are not correct.

I can't tell you how many people I have taken care of in my career that thought they had heart issues and it turned out to be cardiac
