This is Dr. David

I am sorry about your partner.

it sounds like he has a lot of issues going on.

bleeding from the anus could be from hemorrhoid bleeding or polyp or diverticulosis or an anal or rectal cancer possibly. this would need to be checked by your doctor with a finger exam and stool testing for blood.

back ache can be from strained muscles or arthritis of the spine or slipped disk in the back. being overweight can cause more strain and pressure on the back muscles.

he could have a pinched nerve or slipped disk in his neck spine which can cause pins and needles in both arms.

he may need an MRI scan of the spine to check is disks and nerves

MRI scans can be difficult to get in the UK because of the expense.

xrays and CT scans of the spine can be easier to get, but they don't see the nerves and disks quite as well

let me know if you have questions.

you are welcome.

yes, an MRI scan for the back could help look for herniated disks and pinched nerves in the back.

a finger anal exam can check for hemorrhoids for bleeding.
