This is Dr. David

excessive anxiety symptoms can cause these symptoms and can cause feelings of lightheadedness.

do you have a history of having excessive anxiety?

have you taken anti-anxiety medications before?

do you have a GP doctor?

Customer: replied 1 year ago.
No, I have never taken any anxiety medication. I prefer to 'deal with things' and avoid medicines as much as possible.
Expert:  Dr. David replied 1 year ago.

how long have you had these symptoms of things crawling under your skin?

have you ever seen a doctor before?

do you have anxiety symptoms?

Customer: replied 1 year ago.
It happens on and off. The last time I saw a doctor, it turned out I had low Vitamin D. It is the 'pinching under the skin' sensations that happen more ( a few times a day). Which comes and goes.
Expert:  Dr. David replied 1 year ago.

that could be due to low magnesium levels or low potassium levels.

it could be due to excessive anxiety which can cause benign fasciculation twitching of small nerves and muscles under the skin.

Customer: replied 1 year ago.
The last time I did a blood test it turned out I had low Vitamin D and all the other things were okay.
Expert:  Dr. David replied 1 year ago.

do you have excessive anxiety symptoms?

have you ever had a panic attack?

Customer: replied 1 year ago.
No panic attack, I may get a bit anxious, e.g if at work, but no panic attacks.
Expert:  Dr. David replied 1 year ago.

I see.

usually doctors don't check for magnesium levels on routine blood tests.

you can see your GP doctor next time and ask if they checked your blood magnesium levels before

abnormal magnesium levels can affect nerve function.

abnormal thyroid hormone levels can affect nerve function as well.

have you had your thyroid levels checked?

Customer: replied 1 year ago.
The GP mentioned thyroid was okay, but Iron was a little high. (I was taking supplements that had Iron, i think).
Expert:  Dr. David replied 1 year ago.

I see.

I would not stress

your symptoms only happen on and off

fixing your vitamin D levels could help.

I would focus on eating healthier and trying to exercise regularly.

when do you see your GP doctor next?

somethimes there is a 'Metallic Taste' in my mouth which feels 'sickly' some times, which comes and goes. Is that similar to 'low leves potassium cause'?
Expert:  Dr. David replied 1 year ago.

this metallic taste in your mouth most likely is from acid reflux of stomach acid coming up to the back of your throat.

to control this, you have to eat healthier, avoid spicy foods, sodas, alcohol, fatty meals

and use stomach acid reducing medications like prilosec or pepcid to decrease stomach acid.

regular exercise to improve your abdominal core muscle strengthen can also help keep stomach acid in your stomach.

also avoid laying down for 2 hours after you eat

do you have other questions?

Customer: replied 1 year ago.
With the 'light headedness' I get a 'tickly feeling in the inner ears'. Would that be due to low levels of potassioum, etc, as the strange thing is I do not 'get sick'.
Expert:  Dr. David replied 1 year ago.

these sound like symptoms of anxiety or blood pressure changes if you are getting up too quickly

if you are not drinking enough fluid, you can become dehydrated easily and have low blood pressure if you stand up too quickly.

Customer: replied 1 year ago.
I only 'feel sickly' but do not throw up, which is confusing to me. ( I tend to eat healthy foods as much as possible)
Customer: replied 1 year ago.
My blood pressure was checked 2 days ago and it was okay. I drinks lots of water generally.
Expert:  Dr. David replied 1 year ago.

excessive stomach acid in your stomach can cause you to feel sickly sometimes.

at your age, you could also be having declines of your estrogen levels which can cause menopause, irregular periods, hot flashes and sometimes can cause prickly skin sensations and also lightheadedness as well.

Customer: replied 1 year ago.
Finally, can eating Healthy be sufficient to keep Potassium levels, etc at a good level without haveing to take supplemets?
Expert:  Dr. David replied 1 year ago.

yes, you can get enough potassium by eating healthy.

there is a lot of potassium in fruits and vegetables and juices.

avoid sodas and alcohol which can take away potassium out of your system.
