Customer Question

Hi, I have a prominent dimple behind my left knee I am sure that it was never that noticeable but now I noticed it more. The right knee isn't as noticeable still there is a slight dimple but not as sunken as behind the left knee. What could this be? And how can I improve it so behind my knees I have an even surface area this has made me conscious of wearing dresses.

Hello

This can be normal.

Can you attach a picture?

Customer: replied 1 year ago.
I don't think it is as I've not noticed it before and esp since it's more prominent on my left knee. Is there something I can do cosmetically to help rid the sunken sink and make it more even and plumped?
Expert:  DrRussMD replied 1 year ago.

Nothing pathological.

It is muscular.

This can change, even with structural strain....you are chronically straining the leg.

I suggest a structural assessment:

Best doctor, an MD of physical medicine and rehabilitation [PM&R].

Second best, orthopedist.

I didn't understand what you meant by I am chronically straining my leg? Has this to do with standing, walking etc. I do keep fit and do squats and leg exercises so I should be relatively good. Can this be resolved?
Expert:  DrRussMD replied 1 year ago.

Yes.

And yes it can be resolved if needed with physical therapy.
