This is Dr. David
I think you had a blood test for anti nuclear antibody (ANA) titer
this is a screening blood test to look for signs of autoimmune disorder in your body where your body's immune system could be making antibodies which can attack your own body's cells.
lupus is a very common autoimmune disorder.
you should get a copy of your ANA blood tests. often times this test has to be repeated along with other autoimmune tests such as
antibodies to double-stranded DNA (anti-dsDNA) tests,
antibodies to histone tests,
antibodies to phospholipids,
antibodies to Ro/SS-A and La/SS-B,
antibodies to Sm target Sm proteins in the cell nucleus,
antibodies to RNP target ribonucleoproteins
to get a better idea if you have an autoimmune condition or not.
you may have to see a rheumatology specialist to get these more advanced tests
ANA test results should be reported as a ratio for the titer. the higher the ratio that is needed, the more likely your ANA test is positive. usually ratios of more than 1:160 means you are positive.
