I have had a raised red lump appear overnight. Looked like

Resolved Question:

I have had a raised red lump appear overnight. Looked like an insect bite. Looked very angry was very pronounced and was hot to the touch. Over last two weeks it has calmed down but it is still there, raised, still slightly itchy. Worried it's something serious.

This is Dr. David

it looks like a bug bite or spider bite or mosquito bite

doesn't look infected at this point.

try some 1% hydrocortisone cream on the area for itchiness and neosporin and a band aid

but it will get better

No chance that it's skin cancer? Been worried about that in particular.
Expert:  Dr. David replied 11 months ago.

no, it is not skin cancer.

I am a cancer doctor.

skin cancer doesn't just pop up like this and start to itch

you are a bit young for skin cancer

skin cancer doesn't calm down on its own either.

it is a bug bite.
