I have had 3 moles come up on my upper arm about a year ago.

Resolved Question:

I have had 3 moles come up on my upper arm about a year ago. All 3 were flat and you couldn't feel them when you brushed your hand over the skin. Now in the last week, one of them has become very slightly raised and you can feel a small bump on the skin. Should I be concerned or do some new moles become raised normally. I have about 5 other raised moles on my body but they are lighter in colour and appeared raised from the start...well, as far as I can remember. Wasn't so body aware a few years ago!

It's the darker middle mole. It is around 3 mm

Hello

Thanks for the question.

All three look harmless.

Being raised is only one factor.

Of course, you need a magnified exam to be sure, but these do not look problematic.

Hi, does a mole generally have to have more features than just a slightly raised surface to be dangerous, even though it wasn't raised originally? What may make a mole change apart from melanoma?
Expert:  DrRussMD replied 11 months ago.

Keratosis.

This is a proliferation of skin cells.

Bad features are increasing size, irregularity, diversity of colors and ulceration.
