I fell and banged my head last Thursday night. Tripped on

Customer Question

I fell and banged my head last Thursday night. Tripped on pavement and hit it with quite a thud against wall on side of head. I was knocked out for a few seconds and a bit confused after but then seemed fine. Checked by paramedic and sent on my way as seemed OK. Next day had very bad double vision which lasted until yesterday, this is still here but not nearly as bad now. Black eye appeared on Monday. Last night I was very hot and shivery and generally felt unwell. Today I feel better, not great but better, I now have pounding in my ear and vision still a little distorted but much better. Are these all just signs of recovering from a head knock or should I see a doctor? Thank you for your advice.

No no other medical issues at all, perfectly fit and healthy.

I would see a doctor to be sure but this sounds like a concussion

The key after concussion is brain rest.

Dark rooms plenty of sleep and little light stimulation from computer and phone

Brain rest

If there was anything more serious going on would I be feeling worse rather than better? Vision seems better and no more bruising. Large bump on head! Pounding in ear only started today. Are there any signs to look out for if it was more serious.
Expert:  Dr. Phil, MD replied 7 months ago.

That sounds good but I would still get checked

bad signs are focal neurological deficits like weakness in the arm or leg, etc
