I have twice in the last few weeks had a sudden appearance

Resolved Question:

I have twice in the last few weeks had a sudden appearance of a dip/dent in my leg near the bottom of my shin.
It is about 4cm across and 2cm deep and goes away after few hours later.
Can you tell me what on earth it is please??

It is hard to tell from your description where the dent is. It sounds like this is a normal separation between two muscles or tendons. I doubt it is anything to worry about. Here is a picture of the lower leg muscles

That is likely just due to a temporary spasm of the muscle Nothing for you to worry about
