This is Dr. David. I am reviewing your question now and will be with you momentarily.

Expert:  Dr. David replied 9 months ago.

I am sorry you are having fainting bouts.

you could be having low blood sugar levels or low blood pressure

or it could be fluid or liquid in your inner ear.

you need to have your heart and blood pressure checked as well.

have you had these tests?

Customer: replied 9 months ago.
due to low blood pressure but don't know what causes it at times of sickness/injury/ leads to fainting. generally better on fludrocortisone but still have fainting bouts which are scary when they happen.
Expert:  Dr. David replied 9 months ago.

fludrocortisone is used to treat orthostatic hypotension low blood pressure which can be due to not drinking enough water or not enough salt or low levels of aldosteterone steroid in your system.

you should ask to get your blood aldosterone levels checked

Thank you! Would the treatment be different if the problem was due to Aldesterone lack?
I was aware of taking in plenty of water and salt so I'm doing everything recommended but still have a problem
Expert:  Dr. David replied 9 months ago.

you may need higher doses of fludrocortisone. what dose are you taking? 0.1mg?

Customer: replied 9 months ago.
that is the dose. would this be the same medication for lack of aldosterone?
I'm just trying to understand it as I don't want to taking medication unless it's necessary and the right medication.
I've been told I have to take it for life.
Expert:  Dr. David replied 9 months ago.

yes, that is the medication used for lack of aldosterone.
