sounds like you are worried about getting a colonoscopy.

I am a cancer doctor.

many bowel cancers are caught in early stages in patients who get screening colonoscopy.

many of them are caught in the polyp form when polyps are removed in the colon.

blood in your stool can also come from hemorrhoid bleeding as well.

that is good you are getting a colonoscopy in the UK. not many patients get this through the NHS.
