I understand your concern.
The most likely explanation is that this is a Lymph Node Enlargement, due to a local inflammation of the throat / tonsils - this is the probable reason for an ENT opinion.
If the doctor was suspecting something serious, he would have discussed it with you and probably asked for tests and more referrals,
The lack of soreness and no rapid increase in size is also reassuring,

most likely you are having benign swelling of your parotid gland
this often happens after a blocked salivary gland duct in your parotid gland, usually from a salivary gland stone.
warm compresses on the cheek and sucking on lemon drops can help dislodge the salivary gland stone and could help decrease the swelling.
it doesn't sound like you have tried this yet.
