I am a 33 year old woman, and haven't had a period for two

Resolved Question:

I am a 33 year old woman, and haven't had a period for two years. I have had two or three episodes of very light spotting but nothing else. I have been on the contraceptive pill, which I know should regulate my periods. I have mentioned it to my GP a couple of times but she just said it didn't matter and not to worry. But I would like a second opinion. I have not had any children, or any STDs.

sorry you don't have periods.

to find out why you are not having periods, you would need more blood testing and ultrasound imaging of your pelvis.

you need blood tests to check your estragen and FSH and LH levels and androgen hormone levels and ultrasounds of your uterus and ovaries.

you can live a normal life without having monthly periods.

Do you think it is something I should be concerned about?
Expert:  Dr. David replied 28 days ago.

it is only something to be worried about if you are trying to conceive a child

if you are not ready to conceive a child, you don't have to worry.

you can always ask your GP doctor at next visit to do more testing like I mentioned to try to find out more information.

but not having a period is not dangerous to your health.
