I my head probably 25 years ago when I first started losing

Resolved Question:

I burnt my head probably 25 years ago when I first started losing my hair (blistered on holiday) so its always had a mottled/patchy appearance since. For a number of years now I have had what looks like a large birthmark on my scalp/crown. Its about 1cm x 2cm and if I look at the ABCDE rule then ABCD are relevant. Every now and again I get what feels like a small spot in the middle but no pain, itching etc. Its light brown with a small area darker brown.....but not dark brown.
This has not changed in appearance or size for years.

I am a radiation oncology doctor who treats a alot of skin cancer on the scalp.

not changed in 2 years is a good sign.

do you have a clear jpg photo of the skin lesion you can upload here so I can look at it?

do you see the "add file" link?

if the antifungal creams have not helped, the antifungal pill most likely will not help if it is a condylomas on the penis.

sorry that was meant for another client.

You had me worried there : )
Expert:  Dr. David replied 25 days ago.

I see it

the top of your head.

a little blurry in the photo, could use more light

but I see that dark area from scar tissue from the prior burn.

it doesn't look like skin cancer.

skin cancer would scab up and bleed and not heal

that area looks smooth and healed up

it doesn't look like a skin cancer.

Expert:  Dr. David replied 25 days ago.

it looks very similar to how it looks now.

Customer: replied 25 days ago.
Any idea what it could be? Is it a type of mole?
Expert:  Dr. David replied 25 days ago.

it is not a mole

it is scar tissue from your prior burn

causing some melanosis of your skin from prior trauma.

Customer: replied 25 days ago.
Is it worth going to see a local specialist?
Expert:  Dr. David replied 25 days ago.

you can show the area to your GP doctor.

it is up to you to if you want to see a local specialist

you can use Mederma anti scar cream on the area which can over time help lighten the scar tissue up slowly
