On my S211 03 plate the front parking sensor alarms when i break. Is this a known fault and can it be rectified? its driving me mad..

Hello

1st take a look at the sensors themselves, and see if one on has been pushed back into the bumper. They should all be flush - also worth cleaning them all as metallic debris can set them off


Its also possible that the control module is faulty, if you see on the display only 1 side going 'red' for that sensor then this is more evidence of a faulty module

All of the sensors are correctly positioned and clean of any debris.


both sides of the display go red only with no orange visible when the sensor activates. Is a sensor module a costly repair?

Hello Mark

The parking sensor modukle (PTS module) is located/fixed behind the interior trim panel boot lining on either the passenger side or driver side

typically a new module with new coding / fitting woul db about £600 from a dealer

so I'd 1st suggest contacting this firm
