MBpaul :

Hi, The roof system is quite complex & has its own diagnostic system that needs checking with a diagnostic tool such as Mercedes STAR to test for fault codes & functionality checks.

MBpaul :

In the first instance however you should check the partition cover in the boot to ensure it is fully engaged to its extended position

MBpaul :

A common problem on this vehicle is the hydraulic rams that hold the partition cover go weak & do not hold it against the switch

MBpaul :

This causes the roof not to function at all

JACUSTOMER-bktwtrp8- :

It is , but there is no display on dash as if it is tyring to work.

MBpaul :

although it may seem fully extended please ensure it is engaging the switch at the end of its travel

MBpaul :

if the roof partition separtion panel is not engaged fully then the roof will just not work

MBpaul :

Failing that then the system will need checking on STAR diagnostic tool

MBpaul :

there are too many possibilities to guess without having the system checked correctly

JACUSTOMER-bktwtrp8- :

It is engaged, when it's not , it displays fault on dash, but it is'nt showing anything , even that the roof is trying ?.

MBpaul :

ok - unfortunately the system does need a diagnostic tool to see what is happening - it could even be the roof switch is faulty & the roof control module is not getting a signal which would be checked using the diagnostic tool to see what signal is being received

JACUSTOMER-bktwtrp8- :

ok thanks.

MBpaul :

no problem at all
