I have merc e200 kompressor and the lights to the rear number

Customer Question

I have merc e200 kompressor and the lights to the rear number plate and 3rd brake light , in the boot, have failed. I suspect a blown fuse but do not know which one it is. Please advise. Peter

MB Paul :

Hi Peter,

MB Paul :

The feeds for the lights are unfused from the rear SAM unit

MB Paul :

This is a common problem on the E Class & is almost certainly down to broken wires to the boot lid

MB Paul :

The wires run along the left hand boot hinge - you will need to remove the plastic cover from the hinge & inspect the wiring.

MB Paul :

If broken then new lengths of wire will need to be soldered in to repair the wiring loom.

MB Paul :

I have seen this problem many times before on the W211 E Class

MB Paul :

Best regards, Paul
