Customer Question

I have a 240e which has not been used for 3 months. I cannot open the door with the fob or the emergency key. The fob has new batteries and the car battery is 12 months old.

Stan :

Hello,
The battery can self-discharge in 3 months of winter. If the vehicle is stored, battery should be charged every two months.

Stan :

To get inside, you can try to use WD40 or de-icer to make the door locks work.

Stan :

Another possibility is to pull the inside door handle with a suitable wire through a crack between the door and body

Stan :

then the bonnet can be opened and battery charger connected.
