i have a 2004 mercedes 1.8 classic. the engine cover needs

Resolved Question:

i have a 2004 mercedes 1.8 classic. the engine cover needs removing as it is cracked i have a new one but dont. know how to take the old one out can you help please

Hi,

If you are talking about the main top black plastic engine cover then they just pull apwards - the underside has lugs that push into clips ontop of the engine. They usually crack around the lug location points as they can be quite tight & the plastic goes brittle with age.

Just give it a firm tug upwards in each corner.

To refit just push down to lock it into place.
