I recently had my ball joints replaced on my mercedes 320 salon, when the car came back,
both front brake backing plates were broken...how is this possible?

Hello

I'd say that your technician has been rather clumsy in fitting the balljoints

as its easy to slip with the splitter tool and run into the backing plate but to damage both sides and then not own up to it .......
that is unforgivable and needs to be taken up with the garage

as its perfectly possible to do this job without smashing the rest of the suspension up
