E200 Kompressor (156000K) 2006. Not passing emission test

Customer Question

E200 Kompressor (156000K) 2006.
Not passing emission test because of oil in wiring loom. Im told cost of replacing loom is 2-3000Euro. This seems to be a fault in this make of car.
what would you suggest.
Regards
Justin

Hello Justin

I'd suggest employing the services of a auto electrician to carefully remove the damaged portions of the loom and splice in new wire

this woudl take him about a days work so ostensibly will cost you about 400 euro

otherwise contact the specialist merc breakers to find a replacement loom

the problem is common but not on every car
