Hello the engine has a built in oil level sensor and to get this message its quite possible that its a faulty sensor or it really is too high on on oil so try draining off at least 0.5 of a litre and see if the message goes away if that doesn't I'd do a complete drain out and measure how much you get out and check to see if this is the reccommended amount for this car you don't say what car this is but if you can tell me the make and model and engien size and fuel type I can help furhter
