Hi, can you give me more information about the problem? Is it the motor that has seized?
Customer: replied 1 year ago.
while driving engine lost power with knocking noise and then stopped
Expert:  Marty replied 1 year ago.
Okay, has the motor actually been checked to see if it is seized?
Customer: replied 1 year ago.
Expert:  Marty replied 1 year ago.
Well if the motor has locked up and cannot be turned by hand it would have had to lose oil pressure or broken the timing chain. Loss of oil pressure can come from either extremely low oil level or a faulty oil pump or a clogged oil pump screen.

how can it be repaired
Expert:  Marty replied 1 year ago.
This will usually require replacing the motor.
Expert:  Marty replied 1 year ago.
The shop will need to disassemble the motor to determine the extent of the damage but most of the time when an engine loses oil pressure and locks up it will usually cause so much damage that the motor will need to be replaced.

what a blow because i was exchanging this weekend to an slk.how much for a second hand one
Expert:  Marty replied 1 year ago.
That's too bad. A second hand engine is approximately $1500 here in the US. Parts and labor to install a second hand engine is in the $2500 range.
