AAATom :

Hello and welcome to JustAnswer!
I would like to help you with this but I need some additional information.

Can you, please, explain what you mean by "link between the available names and the sizes"?

If you have an example spreadsheet, can you, please, upload it?
You can upload the file to www.wikisend.com service and post the File ID you get here.

Thank you,
Tom

AAATom :

OK, thank you!

AAATom :

Please give me a minute to check it out.

Customer:

Sure

AAATom :

I think I understand - you need to find Filenames from column C in column A in order to get the belonging Size - can you, please, confirm that?

Customer:

Yes please!!!

AAATom :

OK, good.

AAATom :

To do that you can use the VLOOKUP function.

For example in cell D2 you can put this formula:

=VLOOKUP(C2;A:B;2)

It will locate the filename from C2 in column A and put the corresponding value from "second" (i.e. "2" in formula) cell in range made of columns A and B (i.e. "A:B" in formula).

Let me upload your modified sheet.

AAATom :

OK, please download the modified file from here:

AAATom :

Please check it out an let me know if you have any questions.

Customer:

I don't think I have this function, any other way?

AAATom :

The VLOOKUP function is a built-in function available in all versions of Excel.

AAATom :

Please download the workbook above and have a look.

Customer:

Yes Yes Yes!!
