Can you turn off the computer.

Turn it on and keep tapping F8 until you get to a menu.

Choose Advance Boot Options, then choose Last Known Good Configuration.

Let this complete and when it has, tell me if your computer is now starting correctly please.

Thank you

I have a recovery disc for MS Windows 7 Home Premium 64 bit

Thanks

We need to attempt a recovery Roy.

Can you put the recovery disk in the computer and restart the computer.

Keep tapping any key until the disk loads.

When it does, you will see the recovery manager. Follow the steps listed to perform a recovery which will replace the corrupted file that is stopping the computer from starting.

Let me know the results please

Thank you

You do, but it should recovery from this Disk, unless the actual hard drive or Motherboard has failed.

The fact the screen goes blank, points to this.

One thing, when the computer starts, do you get to see a message that says press X (X being the key) for Startup or Boot Options or similar Roy?
