Hi there, Thanks for dropping by. I really hope I can help you out with your IT issues, quickly and efficiently.
Is this for an email address within Outlook on your computer, or Outlook.com?
I do not understand your question. I have been in Microsoft Outlook on a permanent basis for some time, which I use for my e-mail traffic. I have now lost that link so cannot get in to read or respond to my e-mail. I hope that helps
Please note that I am NOT a computer "expert"!
So it is Outlook on your computer, i.e. a program that is installed and you cannot access it at all - have you tried using the start menu?
Yes but I do not have aclear response to it
If you could give me a clear instruction on how to do this, I will try again if you like
what operating system are you using please?
Is that what you need?
So if you go to the start menu, do you see Outlook listed under "Programs"
Or "All Programs"?
Yes under Outlook
So if you click it, what happens please?
The Microsoft Outlook box appears asking me to put in my e-mail address and password
And if you do that what happens?
And , of course, it is my password that I do not have and wish to change
who is the email provider please?
Just let me try again, please
Because I do not know the password, it will not let me sign in
ok, who is the email provider please?
who actually provides the email though, is it bt or yahoo or somebody else?
Do you ,mean the Internet Service provider, please?
your email address, not your name, but what comes after the "@" symbol please
and have you always accessed this via Outlook, or via the internet?
Via the internet
You will need to go to this link and complete Microsoft's online form
There is a link there that says "Can't access your account"
you will need to follow that, and then get your password issue resolved by them.
I will try this now
ok, I will make this into a Q&A now, instead of chat, you can try this out and then get back to me once you have done so with the results ok?
I have tried this process. However, my account was set up by a professional computing person whose e-mail address, and telephone numbers he used to set up the account in the first place. This is the problem
