I tried that - it still doesn't work
- why would the details that work on my iPhone and on my desktop computer (on Entourage) be different from the Outlook on my laptop?

One more thing:
I have 15 different email accounts (all on @whitebutton.co.uk) - I have tried deleting one and adding it again now. Funny thing is - the account appears in Tools>Account list, but has disappeared from the list of accounts in the window where I should receive mail

ports are the ones i've used earlier before trying the ones you gave meimap 143, smtp 587
they work on my iPhone and desktop - so they must be correct?
They work everywhere else - on my iPhone and desktop.
Also - they sometimes work on outlook too - the problem is NOT with the ports.
I am receiving and sending emails from my iPhone as we speak - using the same ports - so no point calling image.
Can you suggest anything else?

we've wasted a lot of time - your answers have not been good.
I told you several times that these ports work everywhere else
and you still kept going on about ports - because you did not know
how to fix it.
I am left with the exact problem as when we started and you are
just passing me on to someone else, and have lost interest the
minute I mention refund. Do you really think that I should pay for this????
